Review of Waiting for Guffman (1997) by Kenny S — 04 Jul 2009
A mockumentary starring Christopher Guest in a ridiculous toupee - where could you go wrong? Guffman is a Broadway producer who Corky St Clair (Guest) has invited to watch the am. dram. play he is producing - the film follows the play from the initial planning stages, through casting, various unforeseen mishaps and the final production.
The film is very funny throughout, from the beginning, where you see the town officials planning where to place the portaloos and armed police officers (in case of trouble) to the end where St Clair discusses 'My Dinner with Andre' action figures.
