Review of Waiting... (2005) by Kyle J — 08 Feb 2011

I really like this movie. It's a little independent feature that hits on some of my favorite types of films from my teen years. It's a coming of age movie, it has a bunch of misfits who have a sort of twisted family dynamic, It is a workplace comedy and of course on of my favorites: It happens in one night.

The comedy is quite juvenile, especially since one of the main plot devices is the male characters tricking each other into looking at each others balls. But the characters are memorable and it has a great flow. Plus the comic teaming of Ryan Reynolds and Justin Long is something I could stand to see more of. Although...ugh to the inclusion of Dane Cook.

For a good double feature try watching this one and Broken Lizard's Slammin Salmon back to back. The restaurant Hi-jinks will keep you thoroughly entertained.
