Review of Waiting... (2005) by Joshua T — 24 Feb 2012
If you have only three jokes and you tell all of them really really REALLY slowly over the course of thirty minutes, it becomes quite apparent in a stand-up act. Not quite the case here, considering the absurdly high audience rating for this film that belies its mediocre writing and directing carried by a great cast.
Waiting is the best example I've seen of a comedy that will always work well with the large percentage of the audience that decided to enjoy it before the credits even rolled, as it makes one feel special to understand the subject matter due to working in a similar environment.
