Review of Waiting... (2005) by James F — 28 Nov 2009
Waiting seems to depend on the hope that the audience has worked in food service at some point in their lives. If this applies to you, the whole film is like some sort of crazy masterpeice, encompassing the inane world that is food service. Every character in the film can be pointed out as "that guy" you once worked with. The rediculous behavior behind the scenes of a typical restaurant are painfully familiar to you and draw many a laugh.
Unfortunately, if gross-out humor isn't your thing, or if you've led more of a priveleged lifestyle free of mundane kitchen-job life, this may not be the film for you. The plot is kind of lost in the jokes at times, and the jokes themselves are mostly just one long penis gag.
All in all, this is a great lazy Saturday type of movie. Have a beer, laugh at Andy Milonakis' braids, fall asleep on the couch when the plot finally remembers to tie things up at the end.
