Review of Wait Until Dark (1967) by Christopher S — 22 Mar 2008
This defines the genre 'Thriller'. Very little blood is shown in the film but I was tense as I've ever been. Impressive film made by an incredibly scary performance by Alan Arkin who is near unrecognizable and some of the most clever film making I've seen.
The lighting is rather standard and basic, almost TVish, but the scripting, pacing and numerous gimmicks make for one incredible film. Also features the greatest and most literal jump scare I've ever seen.
