Review of Wait Until Dark (1967) by André D — 03 Jan 2013
Because a majority of its action takes place within a single apartment, it's not surprising that "Wait Until Dark" was adapted from a play. Moving at a deliberate pace that uncovers significant narrative twists with remarkable ease, "Wait Until Dark" gains its momentum from clever plotting, a brilliant combination of music and tension, excellent staging and exceptional acting, which comes from key players Audrey Hepburn, Alan Arkin, Richard Crenna and Jack Weston.
It's a memorable, claustrophobic psychological thriller that has quite a number of tense moments, and its famous "Gotcha!" moment is still just as scary.
