Review of Wag the Dog (1997) by Dave C — 17 Jul 2008
A political satire that sports a top notch cast. The irony of course is that the satire which pretends to be over the top actually ends up being a not so subtle commentary on the realities of our world today. It's enough to send a shiver down your spine actually, and entertaining the idea that this sort of scenario could be more fact then fiction leaves you wondering if ther is anything we can do about it. To understand that the powers that be have considerable more power then they should is a defeating thought, and it really is a wonder that we all continually get sucked in by the media and the scandal and the drama of the political landscape.
This film isn't for everyone, and it actually isn't my favorite genre of film. But for what it is worth, and for what it tries to be, I would admit that this film is proabaly even more brilliant then I saw it to be.
