Review of Wag the Dog (1997) by Cade L — 17 Oct 2008
As for Mamet pieces, this one is one of the more accessable ones. I love this pop-culture satire stuff: The Player, Simone, Dr. Strangelove--it's always entertaining and very thought-provoking as well.
I've always heard good things about this movie: I'm glad I finally saw it. This isn't one of those laugh-out loud movies, but it is likely to be a film that will stay amusing and engaging after many viewings.
The two leads were characteristically funny, but the big surprise for me was Anne Hesch. She was hilarious! Willie nelson was also funny. Harrelson was a bore (c'mon, something original please), but with that aside, I liked it a lot.
