Review of Wag the Dog (1997) by Charlie G — 28 Mar 2009
One of those films that perfectly captures the spirit of the times, even as it concerns the kind of back-room, larger than life conspiracies that can't even be real. Somehow we buy it anyway. Interestingly light-hearted and fun picture about such a depressing and disturbing subject.
The subject being the media proclivity to create a story where none exists, basically for ratings. And the Orwellian potential this offers for prospective dictators to hijack the support of the people.
In this case, we are the sheep and the American president is the dictator.
