Wag The Dog isn't quite as clever as it thinks it is, the satirical message sometimes clouded by unnecessary plot elements and pointless characters such as Denis Leary's 'Fad Man'. Dustin Hoffman is nevertheless reliably entertaining, and the relationship between the three leads manages to maintain the viewer's interest.
