Review of Wag the Dog (1997) by Kristie H — 09 Apr 2010
The film starts off as a fantastic political satire. Not only does it look at the facade created by politics, but it looks into the gullible nature of people when it comes to judging politics. The first 75% of the film is in this manner; the performances are fantastic and the cinematrography is very reserved, letting the actors dominate the film.
After the introduction of Woody Harrelson's character, however, the film goes over the top and becomes far too absurd to maintain the political satire that made it great to start off with.
