Review of Waco: The Rules of Engagement (1997) by Frederick M — 11 Jun 2010
I first saw this in my first year communications class. The prof was an anti-establishment type and obviously was hoping to show all us young people that a lot of what we learn through the mass media is deception. Not only that, but the government will outright lie about the murder of 74 people.
We all know that the US government is responsible for the deaths of hundreds of thousands of little kids in Iraq, but I suppose it's supposed to come as a surprise that they are capable of doing the same thing on their own soil.
The evidence here is pretty much overwhelming. This is a good introductory documentary to raise the question of the abuse of authority and the agenda of the mainstream media.
One of the members of Congress who is present during the hearings is Joe Biden. He spits out the government line that the cult members covered themselves with gasoline and started a fire.
Even if this were true, it would not excuse the fact that there were dead people who's arms were ripped off by tanks and shot with government issued weapons.
This is what happens when the war comes home. No one is allowed to say 'boo' to the big bad government. If you do, you'll end up like the people in Waco, Texas.
