Review of W. (2008) by Simon F — 19 Jun 2009
All of the characters except for Bush are frustratingly flat. I also think the film could use a serious re-edit. However, the spirit of the film is something to commend. Through Bush, we are shown a dark, indifferent, complex world.
I just wish that less melodramatic dialogue could have been used, characters like Powell and Cheney were not simply good or evil, and that the useless scenes were removed. I could say the same for most Stone films actually.
