Review of W. (2008) by Andrew W — 12 Jun 2010
Josh Brolin conveys the various faces of Bush extremely well and the farce that comes out of real-life situations (the scene where the US power brokers get lost walking across a field) combine to make a watchable story.
My problem with this film is - so what ? If there is a message then I'm afraid I missed it. The difficult relationship between father and son, the switch from alcoholism to reborn christian, all well handled - but what then ?
Big names, good 'impressions' of the people involved, but feels like I could h ave got the same from a Wikipedia page.
