Review of W. (2008) by Kunal S — 13 Dec 2011
Safe and uninspired, there's very little controversy to see in this movie about "one of the most controversial public figures in recent memory". A long ways away from Stone's more ambitious presidential biopics, JFK and Nixon, the movie is mostly centered on Bush overcoming his daddy issues.
A few political moments are also re-created here but it almost plays as parody since most of the cast are laughable caricatures of their real life counterparts ...save for Josh Brolin, who flat out nails his portrayal of George W.
His depiction is probably the one must-see aspect of this movie.
