Review of W. (2008) by Ktn T — 19 Dec 2011
Wow...Oliver stone really knows his political movies. First came JFK, then Nixon...Now W. This movie was excellent for it being a political movie! Josh brolin was amazing as "Dubya" - And, Elizabeth Banks as Laura was simply brilliant as well.
Though Stone does try to make it as accurate as possible...there were parts in this movie that, as of today, are still being questioned. But, a fairly accurate piece of work that looks back to the days of Yale, to the 9/11 stuff.
..to the "Legacy" that was left behind. It does question a few things about his 2 terms though...and, that's what's good about it. It raises the question about whether Dubya knew what he was doing.
...or, if he was trying to break out of his father's shadows. The movie is a must watch for political buffs - and, historians in the same light. Given the plot, it's not really "Exciting" - but, it is a really well put together movie by Stone.
