Title: Vulgar.

Year: 2000.

Cast: Brian O'Collohan, Bryan Johnson.

MPAA: R.

My Rating: 2 Stars (Out of Five).

PLOT: Will is a guy who gets his measly paychecks dressing as a clown and performing at kid's parties. However, one day he decides to try something new, and goes to bachelor parties. Well, the first "party" he attends, he gets brutally gang raped, and becomes a wreck. Then the day comes where he must decide to take a stand....

REVIEW: Vulgar is one of thoe indie flicks you do not go into with high expectations. It might not be as bad as many people say, but it not even close to being good, either. The main problem here is the story. There really isn't much of one. Any point or twist in this story has been done before, and in much better fashion. However, the crew tried to make this a good film, and it shows. The director had some nifty ideas at time, but it was all for naught, mostly because of the low budget.

The dialogue in this movie is actually fairly good at times (albiet filled wih stupid, pseudo-clever lines). Unfortunatley, most of the actors seem like they got picked up off the street randomly, as they really don't seem to know the first thing about acting. I really didn't care about the characters, either, Will wasn't too sympathetic as he made some stupid moves (keep quiet for the sake of your dignity? Come on!) and I didn't care what happened to the dude!

Overall, this not-overly vulgar film tries hard, but can't overcome the trials and errors of low budget. Weak story, bad characters, and terrible acting, VULGAR is just not atop the shit pile. Not worth watching even for Kevin Smith and Jason Mewes fans. I got something REALLY vulgar for ya...

VIOLENCE: 8/10 It hits hard at the end with a supremely gory gunshot to the face and other gunshot wounds. there's also a brief scene of bloodsplatter, some glass-cutting, and what looks like anal bleeding. Ouch...and eww.

LAUGHS: 1/10 The flick tries to be clever with "witty" dialogue, but I didn't crack a smile once.
