Review of Vulgar (2002) by Jordan G — 24 Aug 2007
Heh, again, someone thinks this is Smith's film. Clearly Johnson and Smith are similar, it's ALL over the writing.
But I mean, think about the actors for a second.
Randal in Clerks was based on Bryan Johnson, and in Vulgar, Johnson plays O'Halloran's (Dante) best friend.
The humor is very similar to Smith's, but naturally the film is quite dark and wholly non-mainstream. It's got interesting cameos from the Askew camp, if you're a fan (a gay Dave Klein?) and I actually think the writing and story is pretty decent myself. Johnson's scenes are great, and it's also got a pretty good soundtrack.
