Review of Vulgar (2002) by Jacob D — 20 Nov 2009
Gut-wrenching and for the most part adequate, except for the ending was pretty disappointing--considering the cover of the movie, I was expecting a shootout or something. Nonetheless, the buildup is intense, dramatic--traumatic--and gritty.
Pretty much no comedy, despite the presence of Ethan Suplee, Kevin Smith (who produced and co-wrote, not to mention had a bit role), Jason Mewes (Jay from Jay and Silent Bob), and lead star Brian O'Halloran (protagonist from both Clerks).
Recommended if you can take it, but don't expect anything Oscar-worthy.
