Review of Von Ryan's Express (1965) by K S — 26 Mar 2009
Frank Sinatra and Trevor Howard are cast together to make an underrated WWII/prisoner of war film. This isn't a typical "America is the hero" film because our lead actor (Sinatra) plays an American Colonel who makes costly mistakes along the way to escape in this great action filled film.
The escape is probably the most intelligent attempt I've ever seen in a film of this type before. Very intriguing with plenty of memorable moments.
