Review of Volver (2006) by Reidf. — 27 Jan 2007
Pedro Almodovar may be the best movie director alive, and only he could include murder, rape, incest, and arson in a tremendously entertaining vehicle. Hitchcockian in nature, this movie tackles these difficult subjects with a series of beautifully framed scenes and intersecting story lines.
Penelope Cruz provides a career performance in this hauntingly superb, Spanish-language film.
