Review of Volver (2006) by Samantha P — 10 Mar 2009
First journal:
Best foreign films:
Let the Right One In. A great choice for anyone who wants a more mild horror film and doesn't mind blood and vampires. I didn't know a lot about this movie when I went to see it so I was pleasantly surprised to find out, not only could I tolerate this, but it was enjoyable (as far as horror films go). It's almost a vampire romance film (which I am also partial to, seeing that I loved Christopher Moore's book: 'You Suck: A Vampire love Story').
I definitely recommend this film!
Another favorite of mine is 'Volver' this film stars Penelope Cruz as an eccentric woman trying to make her life and the life of her daughter a good one. It takes place in Spain and has great color and culture. This movie also has a bit of blood and death in it, but is well worth the watch if you like good movie messages. I definitely recommend this one as well!
