Review of Voice from the Stone (2017) by Jacob E — 28 Apr 2017

I have no idea why people are dissing this film except for the fact they are entering it expecting an all out horror movie with jump-scares. This movie is a gothic romance plain and simple. The fact that it has a few moments of seemingly otherworld events is inconsequential to the storyline and only emphasizes what is ultimately the important message the film delivers which is that love and family endure and are not just found but chosen and made.

I put this film at the VERY top films of this genre along with all the classics, and may very well be the first 'Modern Day' classic. All the performances are superb and true to character. The disses about the sex scene are silly and immature because how often do due people who are clearly repressed or feeling guilty about having sex since the first time their spouse has died going to go thirty shades of dark? The movie is BRILLIANT and EMOTIONAL and not geared towards the people seeking Friday the 13th.

Can't recommend it enough, I just wish I'd seen it in a theater instread of via iTunes.
