Review of Vixen! (1968) by Zach W — 03 Feb 2009
Vixen is a Russ Meyer's flick that has me stumped. I'm confused by the messages that he is conveying in the film. Maybe I am reading too much into Vixen. However, Mr. Meyers touches on racism, communism, incest, permiscuity, homosexuality, libido, various sexual fetishes, patriotism, the Vietnam war, defecting, and more.
In any case, I like how wild and fast paced this film is. I have scarcely found a movie from recent times that moves like Vixen.
