Review of Visitor Q (2001) by Riff J — 11 Jan 2017
Gave Takashi Miike's film a wild hair re-watch recently and I must say that it holds up as well as I remembered, with the oddball sensibilities of family loyalty and pride in bizarre display, as one of the most dysfunctional family I've ever seen in film eventually bands together to stand as a unit against outside forces, which is not where you expect the plot to go when the film opens with an incestuous liaison between the father and estranged daughter.
Well worth another look, Miike was really firing on all cylinders in the early 2000s.
