Review of Visitor Q (2001) by Jane L — 10 Nov 2006
Visitor Q is a Japanese film that breaks alot of taboos in practicaly every society. The narrative become repetitive quickly. It not only depicts acts that are illegal and disturbing, but also immoral.
This film is a film intended to shock and is definately at the extreme end of cinema! Despite the questionnable material in this film, it does have some reasoning behind it and it is intended to be a comedy as well, some parts of the film are quite humourous, others are a bit more disturbing in the case of humour.
I would not recommend this film to those with strong opinions or those who would get easily offended by the content, we have to remember it is a film intended to shock the audience, even offend them. This film is violent.
If you do not want to know the content of the film, stop reading now, for those who are unsure of whether they want to watch the film, here is a brief list of the contents so you can get a better idea: physical abuse, drug abuse, necrophilia and incest.
Not for the light-hearted.
