Review of Visitor Q (2001) by Jon H — 12 Jun 2007
One of the weirder films by Takashi Miike, but it is so full of symbolism and hidden meanings that after only a single viewing, you can spend hours thinking about it. This film was actually a made-for-t.
V. movie, and this may be shocking to some because of its content. The film involves prostitution, incest, necrophilia, and more. Very disturbing, yet always sickly funny. Miike uses handheld digital cameras to give the film a home-made look to make it more personal.
The film touches upon today's media, the relationships between memebers in a family, and the fragileness of families. Very thought-provoking and entertaining. Not for everyone, but those daring enough to check it out will not be disappointed.
