Despite the crazy-dumb childish scenario I found that the beginning of 'Virus' wasn't that bad: special effects are quite decent and characters are discovered little by little even if overly stereotyped. Things start to go nuts when the russian scientist (Joanna Pacula) and her colleagues all scream for something like five entire minutes.

As we enter the core of the movie we start to witness more and more issues and inconsistencies. Acting oscillate between really bad and barely decent, characters won't stop making terrible and illogic decisions (especially the captain (Donald Sutherland) and Richie (Sherman Augustus)), the story develops way too slowly, the rhythm is tricky and jerky, the characters become more and more pale copies of uninspired archetypes (like the big black man obviously has to carry big guns all the time or the scientist knowing everything they need to make the plot move on), injured characters remain totally functional after a while, gore and action scenes are awful, lighting is a huge mess, environment is always the same (ugly and unoriginal), everyone always have to split up the group, CGI becomes disgusting, 'Virus' definitely has something to make all intense scenes look boring, confusing or just totally failed. Oh yeah, and the music is surprisingly very often inadequate (who would have thought it was possible in such an action movie actually?). The opponents always how themselves in the same pattern.

Obviously the ending (no spoil) is totally crappy and predictable.
