Pretty terrible. There's a lot about this movie that simply blows it, as it is neither funny, clever, and feels like it was written by someone who only barely understands video games, and storytelling for that matter.

I'm gonna rant because it's fun: the film has very little understanding of video games. The game itself is incredibly loose in its definition. It's unclear what the rules of the game are, and it only further showcases the sloppiness of the film.

The story is terrible, and the jokes are even worse. The few moments of minor humor are tarnished by being repeated three or four times without any variation. The lead actor had charisma, though, so he basically carried the film, despite his character being whiny and lacking focus.

The second lead was also decent, and Mark Hamill's minor role was one of the few refreshing aspects of the film. The villain, though, overacted so hard it hurt, even for a character designed to chew scenery.

Ultimately, it was shallow, unfunny, and pointless, and one of the worst movie I've seen in a long time. Looking back, it had a lot of potential to be exceptionally clever, or even so bad it's good, but fails on every account and becomes simply a bad movie.
