Okay this film is a lot more fun then it has any right to be.... I wouldn't say this sets a new bar for action movies or even call it a great movie. That said it is the PERFECT Yule action flick; Disengage your brain, have a few brews, and enjoy.
There is a plot that isn't THAT plotholey, is genre aware and is delivered with a suitable mix of straight lace and comedic acting that prevents the movie from veering too far into straight up action vs farce, it also "homages" from different movies (die hard 1 and 2 most prominently) but mixes it up enough to not be a rip off / parody.
TL;DR - Had fun, worth a watch at xmas.
