Review of Vincent & Theo (1990) by Faust S — 02 Jul 2011
I don't think the intensity of the love, compassion and support between the brothers are explored so much, it was'taken' on the latter years of their relationship/life, yet still, it felt too long, because of the many vacant moments, the complexity of Vincent's multiple psychological disorders wasn't fully captured, and Gauguin's visit wasn't elaborated.
Vincent and his brother Theo, had a tightly - knit bond, basically parts of them are shared entities, and this never fleet into the spotlight, nor anything in particular, actually, including Vincent's dependency on Theo on emotional terms, and Theo's admiration for his older brother.
But it was a good glimpse of one of the greatest artist, a post - impressionist master, who ever lived. I wish another movie(Lust for Life) will be produced about these two, and may it be accurate, and be like the roller coaster moods of Vincent's painting.
