Review of Vincent (1982) by Chucho E. Q — 14 Aug 2007
I don't know what's best: the autobiographical atmosphere of knowing Vincent Malloy is actually Tim Burton as a kid dreaming of Vincent Price and Edgar Allan Poe... or knowing this is the work of a genius of tremendous talent and out-of-this-universe imagination.
Tim Burton never disappoint us (let's forget something like "Planet of the Apes" even exists!) and always delivers a piece of his troubled but still innocent, chilidish mind to make us happy.
From "Vincent" and "Pee Wee's Big Adventure" to the maturity that "Big Fish" meant... from the blockbusters "Batman" and its (better) sequel to the indie fest "Ed Wood".
.. from a cult to "Edward Scissorhands" to a cult to "Nightmare before Christmas" and "Corpse Bride"... from taking the challenge of building a comedy like "Mars Attack!" to taking the challenge of his upcoming musical (!!!) "Sweeney Todd".
.. when is this man going to go wrong?... NEVER MORE! n_n.
