I was first intrigued by Village of the Damned when I caught a snippet of the film with a friend while channel surfing. I latter had the inclination to look it up as the first few minutes though a little silly featured bot Mark Hamill and Christopher Reeve, Once I saw that John Carpenter directed as a nerd I was all but obligated to give it an objective sit through.

I'm pleased to say while the film is overly corny it is an enjoyable little scifi romp. I actually feel like it has more in common with the average Stephen King feature than it does a true Carpenter classic.

Fact is that it's a movie carried completely by the absurdity of the source material and the dedication of it's actors. Everyone gives they're all and though the film is hokey it never loses it's creepy feel or sense of dread.

The only real problem with this hokey and creepy movie is that people will draw far too many similarities between it and Children of the Corn. By no means a great film but a fun one for film buffs and fans of the genre.
