Review of Villa Amalia (2009) by Ws W — 12 Feb 2011
Sometimes, it is rather difficult watching big names, veteran actors, like Isabelle Huppert, act.
On the one hand, most of them have been seriously typecasted after all these years. Like Huppert, who has been repeating roles with cold face but very passionate-hearted. On the other hand, veteran actors' egos are so enormous that all roles look just the same under their handling. Characters' own characteristics, in different texts, had been almost, completely overwhelmed by actors' personal charisma instead- & which is, commonly seen in French Cinema. Nobody dares to argue they can't act, of course.
Therefore I am already glad enough to see if there was a slight difference happening, like this one.
