I don't give five stars easily but this comedy/drama/romance won me over big time! With a great soundtrack, good acting especially by Mark Myers and Candice Bergen, View from the Top delivers BIG!! For the dreamers, and the visionaries that chase their dreams regardless of the obstacles along the way, comes a movie that will send your spirits soaring..Paltrow plays a small-town girl who wants to follow her dreams and leave the boring and sad existence of her small town. The ride to the top is anything but smooth, and Donna's (Paltrow) funny and sad journey of a lifetime is quite turbulent but along the way she discovers true happiness and love. This movie is about the meaning of friendship, love, betrayal, jealousy, treachery, envy, persistence and vindication. Granted, the current economic condition has diminished and unglamorized any job in the airline industry. We have seen several airlines filing for bankruptcy, pilots losing a chunk of their pensions and taking nearly 20% paycuts along with flight attendants but the message the film sends across is loud and clear- FOLLOW YOUR DREAMS, BELIEVE IT AND YOU CAN ACHIEVE IT..Mark Myers role of John the instructor at Royalty Airlines is absolutely hilarious!!!

Candice Bergen as the flight attendant extraordinaire and bestselling author is wonderful as well...She plays a big part as Donna's mentor while Donna is on her way to become a flight attendant and work for Royalty Airlines. Cristina Applegate's character is despicable and the gay male flight attendant is so charming and nice..This movie is simply perfect, I could not find any flaws!! From beginning to end, you will be entertained in a story of hope, love, betrayal and believing in your dreams no matter who you are...Bravo Zulu to its director Bruno Barreto who did a fantastic job!! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED and part of my private collection.
