Review of Videodrome (1983) by Shounak B — 21 Feb 2014
Yes, I realize that Cronenberg is offering his take on the postmodern movement. The boundaries of reality are becoming increasingly blurred. Technology is apparently the culprit. But, I believe that this film presents a one-sided, pessimistic view.
Aside from it's underlying themes, the film is mildly entertaining, and ahead of it's time. Watching it in 2014, however, you realize that it's a bit dated. Television is no longer at the forefront.
Technology has evolved, and humans have evolved. For better or for worse, that's still debatable.
