Review of Victor/Victoria (1982) by Heather B — 14 Jul 2010
Caught Victor/Victoria on TCM, which is a new channel we have and my current godsend.
Julie Andrews is awesome. Her voice is amazing. Her musical performaces were fantastic, and they're impossible to forget (I'm still humming Le Jazz Hot). Her character was just facinating: much more so than in The Sound of Music or Mary Poppins. It's interesting how they portrayed homosexual men during the 80s (not in the film, I mean, as a film made in the 80s). It seems very progressive for its time (but then, what do I know).
However, the plot was pretty standard, everything ended up how you expected it to.
The Opinion: Le Jazz Good.
