Review of Victor/Victoria (1982) by Patrick M — 01 Dec 2010
I first saw this movie over a decade a go... perhaps two... when I was an impressionable young boy. I was transfixed over the woman pretending to be a man pretending to be a woman. My mother didn't approve of me watching it.
Probably because of the gay themes. The sex and cross-gender subtext went completely over my head. Now it's fascinating watching Mary Poppins, Maverick and a dwarf from Middle Earth prance through this ultra-camp musical.
Lots of fun, great numbers. Just a bit long.
