Review of Victor/Victoria (1982) by Jason V — 27 Jun 2012
That Andrews never once convincingly passes for a man (posing as a woman, despite actually being one) is but one of many problems plaguing this diffuse, aged farce. What was no doubt scandalous thirty years ago can't help but be viewed with more scrutiny today.
Amidst its oddly paced nonsense are moments of revealing candor and knowing humor (mostly provided by Preston), but unfortunately the film is mostly a pig in lipstick.
