Review of Vicky Cristina Barcelona (2008) by J K — 27 Nov 2010
My only real complaint with Vicky Cristina Barcelona? The corny Disney-esque narrator. The whole movie exuded sexuality (which is a rarity for a Woody Allen film) and it had two masterful performances out of Cruz and Bardem (their chemistry is phenomenal).
Scarlett J played the perfect role for herself as the careless wonderer. I think she's like that in real life so it wasnt much of a stretch for her. As I said take away that narrator and this was a very good, very entertaining and very sexy film.
I especially loved the the whole threesome lifestyle with jealousy and firearms part. Was it me or did that narrator sound like he was describing a PBS wildlife show? Very odd.
