Review of Vicky Cristina Barcelona (2008) by No O — 13 Feb 2011
This one is surprisingly comforting. Somehow it's an accurate reflection of all my emotional struggles (and probably, well, obviously not only mine). The comforting part is that the internal conflicts of the characters aren't resolved. There are no solutions and no answers, life is just difficult like that. The only helpful thing, maybe is knowing you're not alone.
It might sound heavy the way I described it, but the movie is actually very light, playful and fun. And that's the genius of it.
Last but not least, the actors and the scenery are stunningly beautiful. Truly a feast for the eyes.
