Although I would probably pay to watch Scarlett Johansson make toast, as a movie, this one leaves me flat. I liked the acting from all of the leads, but Woody's use of a narrator to advance the plot is lazy and seemed to only serve the purpose of keeping the tone light because the scenes were pure melodrama.
A light tone doesn''t make a comedy out of this drama, however, and all we're left with is some bland mix of the two. Toss aside the movie though, and you have one hell of a beautiful travel brochure for Spain.
