Review of Vicky Cristina Barcelona (2008) by Meredith W — 03 Nov 2012
The cinematography is the best thing about this movie, which, I think, is far from Woody Allen's best. It is such that the audience, like the two protagonists, are seduced by the aesthetic of Spain.
Some reviewers have criticized the voice-over, but this did not bother me excessively (just that the guy's voice was a little annoying). If anything, it gave it an old-fashioned charm. I'm no Scarlett Johansson fan but Penelope Cruz is entertaining in her tempestuous role.
