The fact that the man who wrote and directed this movie would go on to create FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS is beyond shocking to me. This is one of the most mean-spirited, misguided movies I have ever encountered.
All of this would be fine if it were funny, but apart from one laugh it elicited from me (a well-timed shot of a kid in a helmet and crutches), it was appallingly bad. I'm just glad Peter Berg moved on and created one of the greatest shows in the history of television.
Because this is just terrible.
