Review of Vertigo (1958) by Domenico V — 03 Jan 2012
Hitchcocks was a genius. And he proves it with this movie. It plays with your mind from beginning to end. At first you think Madelein is crazy and later you really think she's possesed is like a game with the mind like in Slaughterhouse five by Kurt Vonnegut, but then you find out the truth and is shocking, it's amazing.
Scottie becomes crazy, crazy because of love and loss. The only thing I didn't like was the end. Really predictable. But is a true masterpiece, one that shows how can the mind be easily cheated. I think that the most impressive thing on the movie, was that even if the woman changed he would never love her because he was in love of the character the killer had created, of the dead wife that he never met.
