Review of Vertigo (1958) by Ali S — 18 Dec 2012
This is my least favourite Hitcock movie that I've seen. The acting is good. No issues there. But the suspense gets lost in the draggyness. Usually Hitchcock stays with one or two scenes and relies on wonderful dialogue and climatic stories to engage the viewer.
This films seems like a different style all together. The characters are constantly moving from place to place and there are a lot of scenes that seem superfluous. The ending does come as a surprise and seems very Hitchcockian but the rest just doesn't deliver.
