Review of Vertigo (1958) by Sumit S — 07 Jan 2013
Although the countless imitations may have taken away its mystery elements, Vertigo still ranks as one of the best suspense thrillers of its time, that not only showed how experimental Hitchcock can get but also how well he can fuse art into every aspect of filmmaking.
The first half nearly qualifies as an unpredictable horror story presented with great gripping effect while the not so impressive second half deals with the themes of love & loss, yet Vertigo is a brilliantly crafted & artistically appealing film that will remain immortal for its contribution to world cinema.
