Review of Vertigo (1958) by Knox M — 22 Jul 2016
As to whether it is Alfred Hitchcock's best is debatable, but it is most secure demonstration of his understanding of the art of filmmaking. It's one of the greatest uses of color in history and also a breathtakingly moving film.
It doesn't as much as reinforce his title as "The Master of Suspense" as much as it justifies his position as a cinematic artist.
