Review of Vertigo (1958) by Alan Z — 14 Aug 2013
A dazzling emotional metaphor. This story of a man caught in the guilt and the weakness amazes easily despite its slowness. But that's the scent of Hitchcock, to work a story with quiet and then shake it.
And he accomplishes it with skill in his ultimate masterpiece. "Vertigo" is a complete movie with those performances, the cinematography, the score and the narrative technique of Hitchcock. This romantic thriller is too powerful that throws you into a whirlpool of excitement.
