Review of Versus (2000) by Wesley B — 07 Dec 2007
I was really excited to see this movie and I ended up really disappointed. I was expecting a lot of action and violence without much of a plot, but this movie brings it to an extreme that is beyond entertaining.
The fight sequences and cinematography are only interesting for about the first twenty minutes of the movie. There are so many fight sequences that they actually become boring. The film attempts some humor in the vein of Shark Skin Man Peach Hip Girl, but you care so little about the characters and are so bored that it falls flat.
What little plot there is becomes so cliche and melodramatic that I found myself tempted to fast forward or just stop watching altogether.
